Ruaridh McConnochie has shone in the XVs game since arriving from England Sevens.
One of the club’s leaders who has the ability to excite supporters with his footwork and finishing ability, the former Nuneaton man had a late introduction to the professional XVs game.
He debuted for England Sevens at the 2015 Dubai Sevens tournament, adding to his Great Britain Student Sevens appearance where he won the World University Sevens Championship.
McConnochie went on to represent GB at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, earning a silver medal and was a regular try-scorer in the World Rugby Sevens Series, playing an integral role in England’s gold medal triumph in Cape Town in December 2016.
The wing’s performances in Sevens presented a chance at going professional with Bath Rugby in January 2018 and he was one of four uncapped players named in England’s preliminary World Cup training squad, making his first cap against Italy ahead of an outing at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
With Bath, McConnochie has proven an enthusiastic member of the squad with an ability to beat defenders and is also an incredible person off the field within the community.
