Ewan Richards captained the Bath Rugby U18 team to six wins from seven games in 2018/19 The fact that he is an U18 second-row who is performing on the international stage for England within their U18s gives some sign of his ability and his potential, something we are excited about helping him to fulfil here at Bath Rugby.
Richards has demonstrated his many strengths on the field within attack, defence and the set piece. Ewan’s workrate off the ball has fuelled his effectiveness in support play, leading to a number of long-range breaks and metres made with ball in hand.
He has also shown his ability to stop momentum in defence through both his tackle and work in the contact area. Richards is an athletic lineout forward that can deliver consistently good ball in attack and pressurise opposition lineouts, an areas of his game that he continues to develop as a major strength.
Within what has been a standout season for Richards with both Bath Rugby and England his humility really shines through. He is an unassuming and humble young man, who supports his team as well as showing great determination and ambition as a player.
