Stuart Hooper spent five years as Bath Rugby captain from 2011 until 2016 where he was forced to retire with immediate effect due to a back injury.
His first role following retirement saw him take the position as Performance and Player Development Director where he helped bring through a high number of homegrown talent into the Senior Squad.
Hooper then became part of Todd Blackadder's coaching team before succeeding the New Zealander as Director of Rugby in 2019. he led the Blue, Black and White to the Premiership play-offs in 2019/20.
In 2022, Hooper assumed the new role of General Manager, reporting to Head of Rugby Johann van Graan, supporting to deliver the club’s long-term plans which include the further enhancement of its player pathway and Academy; and the development of competitive advantage in areas of data, psychology, nutrition, training and performance facilities.
