Bath Rugby has teamed up with Loake and The Brogue Trader to become the Official Footwear Supplier to the Club.
Originating from Northamptonshire, the family run brand Loake have been producing fine, handmade men’s footwear since 1880, and will provide the squad with shoes for official Club functions.
The Brogue Trader in Cardiff opened in 2013 and has enjoyed both business success and industry wide recognition for its approach to business.
The Brogue Trader MD, Chris Macnamara said: “In today’s challenging premium retail marketplace, I believe we have to take a step back to go forward. We’ve stepped back by rekindling the art of the independent retailing experience, creating a gentleman’s community in store.
“There’s always a cold beer, strong espresso or stiff whisky awaiting our customers, combined with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are passionate about what we do, which all make for an outstanding and enjoyable shopping experience.”
The innovative approach has been recognised by The Footwear Industry Awards, which crowned The Brogue Trader as New Independent Footwear Retailer this year and more recently Cardiff Life awarded us Retailer of the year.
The partnership with Bath Rugby coincides with the opening of a new store in central Bath, with the company havingplans for further expansion including 10 new stores across the UK in the next five years.
Matt Powell, Business Development Director at Bath Rugby, added: “Loake and The Brogue Trader hold many similarities with the Club, aiming to keep the traditional elements of their business whilst at the same time leading the way in terms of innovation and driving the industry forwards, so we are delighted to have them on board.”
To celebrate the new partnership with Bath Rugby, The Brogue Trader and Loake Shoemakers will be offering all Season Ticket Holders a free pair of cedar-wood shoe trees, worth £39, with any shoe purchase made in the Bath store (located on Green Street) on a home matchday.
