Bath Rugby’s final two fixtures of the European Rugby Challenge Cup have been confirmed with the Club hosting French side Pau at the Recreation Ground on Saturday 21st January; kick-off 15:00.
After a closely-fought 22-25 victory in the South West of France in the opening round of the competition, the Club will be boosted by having home advantage on a Saturday afternoon in the West Country.
20 points from the boot of Rhys Priestland proved to be the difference between the two sides, as the Welsh international produced a faultless kicking display, with Semesa Rokoduguni crossing for Bath’s sole try of the evening.
Before the visit of Pau, Bath will head to Ashton Gate to play Bristol Rugby on Friday 13th January (kick-off 19:45) and will be keen to maintain its position at the top of pool four following a five-try, bonus-point 38-3 victory against Cardiff Blues just over a week ago.
Bath won the first meeting in the competition 22-6 in October in the sides’ first competitive meeting in seven years with Matt Banahan, who ran from half way to secure the local bragging rights at the Rec. With a place in the knock-out stages on offer, it promises to be another thrilling two fixtures in the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
Following close consultation with Season Ticket Holders, we are continuing to collect responses from the recent survey regarding the scheduling of games and feedback to those results will be provided in the New Year.
