Bath Rugby well represented on weekend of internationals

7 September 2015

Four Bath Rugby players on international duty collectively scored six tries in four matches over the course of the weekend.

The game-breaking skills of wing Anthony Watson were very much to the fore on Saturday afternoon as the wing beat Ireland's Simon Zebo to the ball in the air to touch down for an astonishing score at Twickenham. England notched up a timely 21-13 victory - including five points from the boot of George Ford - against the Irish going into their home World Cup in two weeks' time.

Wing Horacio Agulla scored a brace of tries for Argentina against his former side Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Saturday, in a match that doubled as a World Cup warm-up for the Pumas and the Marcos Ayerza Testimonial Challenge. Agulla's tries helped his side to a 34-55 victory against the East Midlands outfit.

Niko Matawalu, Bath's new recruit, also touched down twice for the Flying Fijians, who convincingly beat Canada 47-18 at the Stoop on Sunday. Meanwhile, the marauding Samoa's Alafoti Faosiliva crossed the line for a last-gasp try in their 25-19 defeat of Wasps at the Ricoh Arena.

In all, a proud weekend for the Club.
