PREVIOUS CLUB: LEICESTER TIGERS
Williams will join Bath Rugby ahead of the 2019/20 from arch-rivals Leicester Tigers. Comfortable across both the second row and back row, the 27 year-old has spent the last four seasons in the East Midlands. At 6ft 5 and 18 stone, Williams will add a considerable physical presence to the squad.
“I’ve played against Bath on a number of occasions during my time with Worcester and Leicester, so to be able to pull on the shirt at the Rec for the first time will be a really special moment. The squad for 2019/20 season and beyond looks very strong and I’m excited to be part of that.”
PREVIOUS CLUB: LONDON IRISH
McNally will make the short journey down the M4 to join Bath Rugby from London Irish for the new season. A serving member of the Royal Air Force, McNally has helped to guide the Exiles back to the Gallagher Premiership at the first time of asking. Like Williams, the 28 year-old can operate in both the second and back row.
"It's a really exciting time to be joining Bath - the ambition and vision was a huge factor in my decision.”
PREVIOUS CLUB: WASPS ACADEMY
HONORS: ENGLAND U20
Stuart joins Bath Rugby having come through the ranks in the Wasps Academy. The tighthead prop made his first team debut for the Coventry-based side in the 2017/18 season after featuring in England’s triumphant World Rugby U20 Championship. A hugely talented prospect, the front rower will be looking to add to his growing reputation in the Blue, Black and White.
“There is a great deal of emphasis placed on developing young players at the Club, which was fundamental in my decision to move to Bath. I feel there is no better place for me to learn and I have no doubt that I can make big strides forward as a player. “
PREVIOUS CLUB: HARLEQUINS
Boyce will join the Club following two seasons with Gallagher Premiership rivals Harlequins. The 22 year-old has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting loosehead props in the country, and was rewarded with a place in Eddie Jones’ 35-man squad for England’s Six Nations campaign last year.
PREVIOUS CLUB: CORNISH PIRATES/ SARACENS
Judge will continue his career in the top flight after a spell on loan with Saracens from Cornish Pirates. The tighthead prop initially joined the 2017/18 Gallagher Premiership champions on a short-term loan in December, before returning for the remainder of the campaign in March.
“I’ve had a great experience this season with Saracens – it’s not only helped to develop my all-round game but given me that world-class competition week in, week out. To have the opportunity to come to Bath next season is huge for my career, and one that I’m relishing.”
“Our playing group is aligned with what senior management is trying to do at the club, from what the coaches look like, what the coaching structure looks like and the type of rugby we want to play.
“Change can be a both a challenge and an opportunity. There is a positive mindset around the changes that we are making here at the club. They are being made for the right reason and our playing group is completely onboard with that.
“We know what we want to achieve as a club, we haven’t achieved that yet, but we are all approaching this with a positive mindset, and we will give it our all as a group of players to get those results that we want.
“Closing out tight games has been an issue this season. We go with a set strategy and a set plan and we try to execute It every week. Ultimately in those moments it’s a cool head that counts, it’s a core group of senior players that make those decisions and that gives off the ore of a calmness and really demands direction in those key moments.
“It is something that comes with time, if it is in and around the club, during training it’s having that involvement of key players that are on the same page, that can make those difficult decisions. When your heart is racing at 200 beats a minute, you’re hanging on for dear life and your shoulder isn’t where it should be and you don’t know whether to kick, tap or scrum. It’s often those small decisions that make the difference. We have that group of guys here at Bath, and we have leaders on the field that can make those decisions. We are all excited for next season."
Bath Rugby Foundation is the charitable arm of Bath Rugby and empowers young people to succeed. We use the values of rugby to enable vulnerable young people to create a better future for themselves. Our charity delivers in three key areas – Education, Inclusion and Employment.
Every year Bath Rugby Foundation works with around 3,000 youngsters who’ve had the toughest start in life.
The children we work with are born into poverty, have a Special Educational Need or Disability, or are excluded because of their race or gender.
Bath Rugby Foundation gets involved where the need is greatest and our staff use the combined power of sport and education to motivate, raise self-esteem and increase confidence.
We improve life skills using the values of teamwork, loyalty, discipline and respect and work at The Rec, in schools, community centres and parks. We deliver mental, social, physical, wellbeing and employment programmes.
As Government funding for youth support services continues to be cut, less and less support is now available for the rising number of youngsters who need it. Vulnerable children aren’t falling through the net – there is no net.
Bath Rugby Foundation changes the lives of young people - who may otherwise end up on benefits or in the judicial system. However, we couldn’t do any of this without the fundraising efforts of our wonderful supporters.
