Despite no crowds at the Rec, there's plenty of positive news from across the Club including: the launch of the President's Lounge, a double man-of-the-match performance for Bath Rugby's Taulupe Faletau and a roadmap back to the Rec!
President's Lounge kick-offs with inaugural event
In the first of a series of The President Lounge events, key stakeholders from across the city came together virtually to share in the experiences of the inspirational young people who took part in the Andes Challenge.
Three of the mentor and mentee pairings who took part in the Andes Challenge joined, including Sir James Fuller and his mentee Todd Burge.
“For me, it’s been a life-changing experience" commented Sir James.
"Taking us all out of our comfort zones and giving someone an experience to push and challenge themselves. It was an inspiration to travel and take us all into a country we’d probably not been to - and I found Todd! Someone who puts himself up in front of everyone despite not being able to ride a bike. With all the adversities in front of us, Todd was incredible…He put himself out there and gave it his all. He’s an inspiration to everyone, I can’t say otherwise."

The Rec is calling!
Last month, Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled the roadmap out of lockdown, including an eventual return to normality on June 21 subject to meeting specific conditions.
Subject to the outcome of pilot events taking place in April, the roadmap included an eventual return for limited crowds at the end of May before working towards full stadiums as the summer progresses.
If the pilots are successful, up to 10,000 people or 25% of total seated capacity, whichever is lower will be allowed in stadiums for sporting events...including the Rec!

Toby's the man
Bath Rugby's own Taulupe Faletau won back-to-back Man of the Match awards for both club and country in February.
The Number 8 picked up the accolade following Bath's 16-14 victory over West Country rivals Gloucester, a game which saw Faletau score to help claim a famous victory for the Blue, Black and White.
A week later during his return to international rugby, the British & Irish Lion continued his Man of the Match performance and was awarded the title after his dominant display in Wales' 40-24 victory over England.
The Welsh international is now sitting pretty at the top of the table for most carries made (50) in the 2021 Guinness Six Nations. He's amassed 60 successful tackles after four rounds, second only to fellow Wales teammate Justin Tipuric.
