Saracens Storm show their quality with victory over Bath United

An experienced Saracens Storm scored seven tries on their way to a 50-10 victory over Bath United in the Premiership Rugby A League.

The hosts opened the scoring inside 10 minutes, with Tom Whiteley sending Rotimi Segun across the whitewash for their first try of the afternoon. 7-0

A penalty from Josh Lewis closed the gap on 17 minutes, before Whiteley hit back with one of his own nine minutes later. That proved to be the start of a frenetic last 13 minutes of the half, with Storm running in three tries before the interval.

The first was created by Dom Morris, as the inside centre cleverly found Nick Tompkins, who made good ground before sending Whiteley through to score. It got even better for Storm, with England international Nathan Earle putting further points on the scoreboard. 22-3

As the clock ticked into the red, Joel Kpoku powered his way through the Bath defence to give his side a commanding lead going into the half-time break.

It was a strong start from United in the second half, and their early pressure was rewarded with a try. Lewis found replacement Jeff Williams with a well-executed crosskick, and the winger made no mistake. 29-10

Moments later, Storm got back on the scoresheet through Earle, who notched his second of the game. Tongan international Sione Vailanu combined well with Matt Gallagher, who sent Earle racing over the try line for their first try of the second-half. 36-10

Despite the best efforts of the visitors, United were unable to hold out replacement Reuben Bird-Tulloch, who added their sixth score of the match with just under 20 minutes to play. 43-10

Tadgh McElroy was next in on the act, as the hooker finished under the posts following another well-worked move from the men in white. 50-10

Storm played out the last 10 minutes with 14 men after replacement Jonathan Kpoku was sent to the sin-bin. However, United were unable to take advantage of the extra man, and Storm closed out the game.
