Former Fijian international Netani Talei will be joining the Bath Rugby Community team this August to deliver their first ever Residential Camp at Bournemouth Collegiate School.
Talei, who represented Fiji at three Rugby World Cups and earned 33 caps in total, retired from rugby in May and has been hard at work setting up N.E.W Fitness , which offers online coaching, personal training, strength training, rugby coaching and nutrition and diet plans. The former back row will lead the sessions on mobility, fitness and nutrition, as well as assist with the rugby sessions.
‘I am looking forward to teaming up with the Bath Rugby Community team, to deliver what will be a great week of rugby at Bournemouth Collegiate School,” said Talei. “When I heard about what they were trying to create during their Residential Camp, I was really excited to get involved. Having played professional rugby for a number of years, hopefully I can share some of my knowledge and experience with the children.”
James Newbigin, Commercial Community Manager, added: “I have known Netani for three years now and he is a professional in every sense of the word. I have never met a player more committed to a healthy, professional lifestyle and focus on his own continued development, and I’m sure our participants will all learn a huge amount from him.”
There are limited places left on the Residential Camp, which is taking place between 6th-11th August.
Camp participants will take part in rugby training sessions to help develop individual and team skills, as well as nutrition and education workshops, analysis and reflection sessions, and strength and conditioning and recovery sessions.
The camp will be held at Bournemouth Collegiate School, one of our affiliate schools, who have excellent facilities including brilliant residential houses, a gym, a swimming pool and top-quality rugby pitches. This camp is open to junior boys between U13-U16 and to all capabilities.
Players will be asked to arrive at 17:00 on Sunday 6th August, with pick-up being around 15:00 on Friday 11th August.
