On Friday 9 July, Bath Rugby and Bath Rugby Foundation collaborated by hosting six schools at Lambridge Training Ground for an exciting Premiership Rugby Champions/Tacking Health tag festival.
Despite the challenges this past academic year has endured, the event was a great spectacle of rugby which was played and celebrated by our young participants. We would like to thank St. Mary’s Writhlington, Farmborough, Kilmersdon, St. Ursula, St. Vigor & St John and Paulton for their support in our celebration event.
A special mention also needs to go out to all our other primary schools (St. Michaels, Southwick, St. Johns (Radstock), Combe Down, Corsham, St. Johns (Trowbridge), Upton Noble, Bruton, Abbot Alphege, Weston All Saints, Welton, St. Nicholas (Radstock) Hayesdown, Midsomer Norton, Castle, Longvernal) and their teachers who have supported and engaged with our programmes this past year and we hope to continue working with you all in the future months.
These schools have also registered and took part in using the Premiership Champions App that was launched at the start of the academic year. If your school would like to find out how to get involved with future festivals and the Premiership Champions app all details are below:
Premiership Champions App
Premiership Rugby Champions is an education app aiming to inspire the current generation of primary school pupils. Featuring digital content from our club, Premiership Rugby Champions has been developed with learning technology company, Aspire 2Be and uses the sport of rugby to inspire primary school learning, developing physical literacy and important life skills.
Developed by teachers for teachers, the app will host FREE resources, tackling health, tackling numeracy, and tackling character. With digital literacy outcomes at the heart of all content, Premiership Rugby Champions will provide you with themed lesson plans and materials for use in the classroom, outside and at home using the inspirational role models of Premiership Rugby Clubs to connect pupils’ learning to the world around them.
Grow a classroom full of champions with the Premiership Rugby Champions App. Available for download now on iOS and Android.
Lastly, a thank you to both Premiership Rugby and Greggs Foundation for not only funding our schools programme, but for being flexible and understanding of the challenges imposed. This support has allowed us to offer support to young people and teachers in the toughest of times.
