Dear Supporter,
The focus of this letter is to confirm that we are launching our process for refunds and credits in relation to the 2019/20 season, which are now live.
UPDATE: The process is now open and Season Ticket Holders have four options available to make sure that they have full control over what they would like to do with the pro rata value of their season ticket. Please complete the online form below.
Our rugby restart programme continues to gather pace, and we were delighted to welcome our players back into the training environment on Monday this week for Stage I individual socially distanced training. I would like to thank our staff, particularly our Performance and Operations Departments, who have been exceptional in preparing for the players return. We look forward to providing further updates next week.
As you will be aware, Premiership Rugby is targeting 14th August for the recommencement of the 2019/20 season. At this stage it is not confirmed whether those games will be at the Rec, or whether there will be the opportunity to welcome reduced numbers of supporters to games.
We continue to support Premiership Rugby in developing detailed plans for each scenario, however, we feel that ahead of those details being confirmed it is right that we now commence the refund and credit process, which was initially communicated in late May.
Matchpay Ticket Holders for London Irish and The Clash
On Monday 22nd June you will be automatically refunded with the amount you originally paid for your tickets. This refund will be issued to the original card used for the transaction and will take up to fifteen working days to reach your account.
Season Ticket Holders
The credit and refund process opens on Monday 22nd June and our Season Ticket Holders have four options available to them in relation to the pro rata value of season tickets for fixtures against London Irish, Wasps, Worcester Warriors and Gloucester Rugby.
Credit will be automatically applied to Season Ticket Holder accounts and from Monday you have the option to select a percentage share for allocating your credit against each of the following options. Whatever you decide to choose, we completely understand your decision and we thank you for your continued support.
Option one: Keep your credit
You have the option to keep all or part of your credit in your account. You can use this with any future purchases, including your 2020/21 season ticket, which we intend to open for renewal in late July. Once applied, your credit will remain in your account until you decide to use it.
Option two: Gift to the Club
We are humbled that many of you have contacted the club to ask how you could help at this time and if there might be an option for you to gift some of your credit to the Club. This is an incredibly generous and thoughtful gesture - thank you on behalf of everyone at the Club.
If you can, and you would like to, you now have the option to select a percentage of your credit that you would like to share with the Club. In doing so you would help us navigate this extraordinarily difficult time. Thank you.
Option three: Donate to Bath Rugby Foundation
Right now, our charitable Foundation is delivering vital support to the most vulnerable children and young people in and around our city. Our Foundation works closely with children and young people experiencing huge challenges in life, in some instances significant neglect and abuse, and literally helps change their lives.
Prior to this crisis there were more than 8,000 children and young people in our community living in poverty, and our Foundation estimate that this number will rise to over 10,000 due to the impact of coronavirus. Unfortunately, whilst the need for their work grows, their funding has shrunk by 25% and as we look ahead our charity faces the monumental task of doing more with less.
You will have the option to select a percentage of your credit that you would like to donate to the Foundation. A Season Ticket Holder Fund would help change the lives of children and young adults in our community – thank you.
Option four: Refund
If you would prefer to take some or all of the credit as a refund, you will be able to choose a percentage and receive it as cash back in your pocket. All refunds will take up to fifteen working days to process.
This process will remain open from Monday 22nd June until 5pm on Friday July 31st and any unclaimed refunds after this point will remain in your account as a credit.
2020/21 Season Ticket Renewals
Many of you have recently asked about Season Ticket Renewals for 2020/21. Thank you from everyone at the Club for your passionate support and your excitement, not just for 2019/20, but also the 2020/21 season ahead.
Premiership Rugby are working to conclude the scheduling of the 2020/21 season and we look forward to providing further information as soon as it is available. It is our intention to open season tickets for renewal in late July.
Whilst details regarding the 2020/21 season have not yet been finalised by Premiership Rugby, we can confirm the following:
- Prices for all renewals will be frozen at 2019/20 rates and we will guarantee refunds for any portion of your season ticket that we are unable to deliver due to Covid-19
- We will not be hosting the Clash at Twickenham next season which means we will have an extra Gallagher Premiership game at the Rec for you to enjoy
- We will be offering a longer renewal window than usual so you have plenty of time to decide and, if you are unable to commit for 2020/21, we will hold your seat for you and give you first right of refusal for the 2021/22 season
The 2020/21 season may be impacted by Covid-19 and social distancing requirements. We are working with a venue solutions specialist to map our stadium seating plan against various social distancing scenarios, to determine how this might impact capacity at the Rec and the location of your seats.
We are hopeful that by the time 2020/21 kicks-off, we will be able to welcome all of you to the Rec, and we will provide further information when we open the 2020/21 renewals.
I mentioned at the start of this letter that we will provide further updates on our rugby restart programme next week. It’s been an extended pause but everyone at the Club is hugely excited about the commencement of Stage I training and the targeted return of matches in mid-August.
Thank you so much for your support. We can’t wait to put rugby back on at the Rec and hopefully, in the not-too-distant future, to welcome you back.
Best Wishes
Tarquin McDonald
