Lewis Moody Takes on his Greatest Challenge in the Yukon Arctic Ultra

24 January 2013

Former Bath Rugby player Lewis Moody MBE will be battling the elements as he prepares to take on the Yukon Arctic Ultra in February 2013. With temperatures dropping as low as minus 50 Degrees Celsius during a gruelling 300 mile trek, 'Mad Dog' Moody will undertake his greatest ever physical challenge!

"After 16 years of professional rugby, having led my club and country on the greatest rugby stage, I have faced some of the toughest opposition in the world. With a rugby shaped hole in my life that I have begun to fill, I believe that this challenge gives me the perfect opportunity to push myself both physically and mentally."

The challenge aims to raise £300,000 for HOPEHIV to support some of the hundreds of thousands of children living and working on the streets across sub-Saharan Africa. They face their greatest challenge every day as they struggle against abuse, poverty, stigma and neglect, simply to survive.

The team taking on the Yukon Arctic Ultra comprises Lewis, Polar Adventurer Alan Chambers MBE FRGS and HOPEHIV founder Phil Wall. Find out more at
