Jaffa become Bath Rugby’s Official Community Partner with launch of Healthy Living programme

20 October 2015

With the launch of the Jaffa Healthy Living programme, Bath Rugby is delighted to announce the company have become their Official Community Partner.

Aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils in local schools, the free programme, delivered by the Bath Rugby Community coaches, focuses on educating the children about the benefits of healthy eating and staying active. Their time will be split between classroom based activities – particularly looking at the lifecycle of citrus fruits and their many health benefits – and tag rugby sessions outside.

Roy Van Grevenbroek speaking on behalf of Jaffa said: “Our partnership with Bath Rugby is now in its third year, and we’re very excited about the latest progression of it. The Jaffa Healthy Living programme builds on the work we already undertake through the Tesco Eat Happy project, and we’re looking forward to helping the Community team extend their great work even further.”

As well as the free sessions, all schools taking part will receive free tag belts and balls so they can carry on enjoying tag rugby once they have completed the programme.

Ross Batty, one of three Bath Rugby player ambassadors for the programme, added: “Healthy living is a really important message to get across to kids, and both Jaffa and ourselves are really keen to help with this. The programme will be a lot of fun, and I’m excited to hopefully get down there and help out.”

A number of schools in the Bath and North East Somerset area have already expressed an interest in the programme, which is aimed to start in November.
