Bath Rugby Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper spoke exclusively with BBC Bristol’s Geoff Twentyman this week
He discussed the return of Anthony Watson and Toby Faletau, the rising young talent in the ranks and how the Blue, Black and Whites are approaching Friday’s European Challenge Cup fixture against Zebre.
“Toby (Faletau) and Anthony (Watson) are probably some of the best we have week-in-week-out at developing the players around them” commented Hooper.
“Just today, Anthony was spending time in training with all the other back three players on positioning and defence and passing on that knowledge.
“They are outstanding players and they see the best way for them get to the next level is to help develop the players around them. That doesn’t take anything away from their performance, it actually adds to it.
“It’s something we encourage; it’s the environment we want to create. And that goes across the squad, with Miles Reid and Josh Bayliss helping Ethan Staddon and Ewan Richards with their development. It’s the way we operate and it’s the environment we want at Farleigh.”
