East Stand permission granted

27 July 2011

Bath Rugby are pleased to report that the Section 26 order granting us permission to build the East Stand has been granted for the forthcoming season.

This means that the Ticket Office staff will be cracking on processing all of the East Stand Season Ticket renewals over the next couple of weeks. With this in mind, if you haven't already done so, then please return your renewal form as soon as possible to secure your usual seat. If forms are not received by next Wednesday (3rd August) then we cannot guarantee your preferred seat will be available.

Looking to the start of the season, first up to visit the Recreation Ground will be the reigning Aviva Premiership Champions, Saracens, on Saturday 10th September. A physically strong, hard-hitting team, the London side will be a stern test for us, and everyone knows we will need to be on top of our game to kick the season off in style by defeating the champions. Make sure you put the date in your diary to ensure you're there to be the 16th man for the Blue, Black and White.

Chief Executive, Nick Blofeld, commented: "With fixtures confirmed up until Round 8 of the Premiership, we are pleased that we are currently scheduled to play 10 of our home games in the league on a Saturday, mostly in the afternoon. We know this is the preferred choice of our supporters and Premiership Rugby have helped try to accommodate this for the new season. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the remaining fixtures stay on Saturdays, if they do change, we will let you know as soon as we possibly can, to allow you to plan ahead for your visits to the Rec."

Always striving to improve the match day experience for all our supporters, there will be two significant developments at the Rec for this season.

Firstly, we will be installing a brand new PA system, ensuring that everyone in the ground will be able to hear our build up to the game, team announcements and player interviews all the way through!

In addition, from a visual point of view, we have been granted planning permission to install a permanent big screen which will be used for all our home games. It will sit in the North East corner of the ground, replacing the old scoreboard. The big screen will provide an enhanced match day experience for all our supporters, with a variety of activities planned on it.

With all this in place for the new season and a new website being developed for a September launch, plus the strongest squad we have had in years on the field, we hope that you will join us at the Rec for what promises to be another exhilarating season of rugby - let battle commence!
