Premiership Rugby (PRL) today published the findings of a review into the Salary Cap regulations led by former Government Minister Lord Myners CBE.
Bath Rugby welcomes the report and fully endorses both the process undertaken and the outcomes of the review, which involved an extensive consultation across all stakeholders in the game including all Premiership Rugby Clubs. Members of the public were also invited to submit their views.
The Club contributed to the whole process and met with Lord Myners to provide input to the review. The concluding report provides a range of recommendations going forward, focusing on transparency, accountability and enforcement.
Bath Rugby Chief Executive Tarquin McDonald said:
“We are pleased to see the conclusion of Lord Myners’ review of the Salary Cap regulations and the outcomes of the review, which will be used to strengthen the regulations. The recommendations will now be reviewed by PRL and the Clubs to inform enhancements to the Salary Cap regulations and their objectives, which include the provision of a level playing field for all Premiership Clubs and a competitive league.”
