International watch: Tough weekend for Bath contingent

11 March 2023

Ollie Lawrence, Sam Harris and Louie Hennessey were all in international action on the weekend.

For England Under-20s at The Rec, Harris was on the scoresheet for his country in front of over 11,000 people but he and his teammates came out on the losing side against France Under-20s.

The Academy back, who was playing at full-back for the fourth consecutive match, showcased some excellent rugby in attack and added a conversion to his score to move him clear in front as England’s top points scorer in the tournament.

Elsewhere in the U20 Six Nations, Hennessey completed 80 minutes for Wales Under-20s as they were narrowly beaten by Italy.

The centre delivered a try assist in the match as well as gaining 65 metres from seven carries, but it wasn’t enough as his side lost 29-25 in Treviso.

Finally, England Men suffered a heavy defeat to France in the Guinness Six Nations, a match in which Lawrence featured in for 61 minutes.

The Bath centre had a quieter game than his previous two outings in white but still managed 24 metres from four carries, breaking one tackle.
