Beechen Cliff produce first win in AASE playoffs

Beechen Cliff School produced a 33-12 win over Brooksby Melton College in the AASE League Playoffs and will head to Gosforth Academy next week. 

Beechen Cliff began the quickly, scoring the first try in the first ten minutes, with Frankie Read going over. The move began with a neat kick chase and after two or three phases and quick hands out wide from Ethan Staddon, Mackenzie Graham, Orlando Bailey with Read going over the whitewash to score the first try of the game.

Beechen were able to implement a strong good kicking game and put pressure on Brooksby Melton College their own 22. Staddon crossed for the second score of the game, a powerful driving maul saw the flanker crash over. 

Archie Stanley scored a spectacular team try. Beechen gained momentum in their own half with some really good shape and forward play from Orlando Bailey. Stanley ran a really good line the 10 channel and shrugged off three defenders to score under the posts.

Bradley Law began to move which led to Ethan Staddon scoring his second try of the game. Law broke through a tackle with the clean line break and broke through the tackle which allowed Mackenzie Graham a 30-yard run, with a two on one situation and the flanker cruised through to score.

Beechen produced some exceptional performances during the game against Brooksby, with man of match going to Staddon who produced three turnovers, two try’s and dictated the line-out all game.
