This new tournament, designed to bring rugby to the supporters over the summer months, has already been pronounced as a fantastic event much enjoyed by players and fans alike.
Sevens rugby, which has now been been accepted as an Olympic event for 2016, is quite different form the usual style of rugby union. "Sevens has a major appeal with exciting quick-fire contests and this is also an opportunity for players to develop their game in a competitive arena." Says Peter Tom, Chairman of Aviva Premiership Rugby.
Sevens rugby is an exciting sport. It demands a lot of skill, fitness and game management. Incredibly fast-paced and extremely energetic, it is a great evening game.
Bath Rugby will kick off the evening at 7.55pm as they take on Exeter Chiefs for the first time in the 2010/11 season in their opening match.
The Bath Rugby squad rising to the challenge are:
1. James Tyas - Back Row
2. Joe Ellyat - Flanker
3. Jamie Collins - Lock
4. Rhys Davies - Lock
5. Ben Skirving (c) - Back Row
