Extension of IPL Stand Granted
16 July 2010, 6:15 pm
By Kate Oram
Bath Rugby are pleased to announce that the Charity Commission has renewed the extension to the IPL Stand for the season 2010-11. Along with some successful planning applications recently received, this will mean a rise in capacity at The Rec to 12,300.
Supporters will also be able to enjoy a better view due to the improved "rake" of the IPL Stand, more covered seats in Ringside 2 (that now holds 500 spectators) and a new covered, disabled viewing area.

Whilst the IPL Stand will not begin being rebuilt for the coming season until August 16th, Chief Executive Nick Blofeld is looking forward to seeing more new faces in The Rec over the coming months:

"We are delighted that more people will be able to enjoy Bath Rugby matches here at The Rec and we hope that we will be able to improve the facilities a little each year.

"We would like to thank the Charities Commission for renewing the extension of the IPL Stand and the Council and Trust representatives for all of their efforts in helping.

"We are also really looking forward to hosting the inaugural JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership 7s Finals here on 6th August and then our 'Curtain Raiser' against Edinburgh on 21st August which will be a double header as the United team will play prior to the first team. There will be lots of activities for all the family that day too, so we hope to have a good crowd to get the team off to a flying start."
