In joining Bath Rugby, Sam Burgess represents arguably the most high-profile cross-code move in rugby history. One of the biggest names in rugby league, Burgess played for Bradford Bulls in the Super League before joining the famous South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL.
A Great Britain and England Rugby League international (for whom he scored eight tries in 15 appearances), he played a starring role for his country in the 2013 World Cup, where his bullocking runs and clever offloading marked him out as a true talent on the global stage.
Burgess' development throughout the 2014/15 season was swift, seeing him start the Aviva Premiership Final against Saracens on the blindside. His skill-set hasn't gone unnoticed by England, for whom he has won two caps this summer, and who have included him in the 2015 Rugby World Cup squad.
