Mat Gilbert joined Bath Rugby in November 2012 from Welsh side Llanelli Scarlets.
Back-row Gilbert, who was born in England, made his name at Scarlets, making 15 appearances for the Welsh province, before moving to Mogliano. He has also won 11 caps for the England Deaf rugby team.
Despite his disability, Mat has already added an extra option to the Bath Rugby back row with his strong ball carrying ability and decisive, effective defence.
