Bath Rugby Academy University Scholarships

University Scholars

This group consists of up to 12 players who train part time with Bath Rugby and full time with University of Bath high performance rugby squad. Their playing programme will involve them in Bath "A League" fixtures as well as representing the university, playing in the BUCS league and County Cup. Players from this group can progress to be full time Bath Rugby England Academy Players.

Scholarships are offered for a period of one year although it is anticipated that athletes will remain in the programme for the duration of their chosen course at University of Bath. This is subject to their successful completion of each academic year and also maintaining the required rugby standards at both Bath Rugby and Bath University.

Selection is based on achieving the required academic standards for admission to your chosen academic route at University of Bath. Every scholar must also have the potential to represent both the University of Bath and Bath Rugby.

Scholarship Benefits

1. Access to suitable training facilities provided by Bath Rugby or University of Bath.
2. High performance coaching under the direction of the Bath Rugby Academy staff and the University of Bath Head of Rugby.
3. Strength and conditioning with evaluation and training programmes under the direction and supervision of qualified personnel.
4. Sports Medicine and Sports Science services provided by the Academies practitioners or other approved agencies.
5. Performance reporting and supervision
6. Medical treatment by the Academy's practitioners.
