More Bath Rugby players on international duty

Paul James and Tom Heathcote have been included in the Wales and Scotland squads respectively to take part in the coming Autumn Internationals.

They join the England trio of Dave Attwood, Kyle Eastmond and David Wilson in flying the Bath flag on international duty in the coming months.

James is named in a 35-man Wales squad, which includes the uncapped trio of Rhodri Williams (Scarlets), Cory Allen (Blues) and Eli Walker (Ospreys), alongside Luke Charteris (Perpignan), Aaron Jarvis (Ospreys) and Rhys Priestland (Scarlets), who return after injury.

The RBS 6 Nations Champions host southern hemisphere sides South Africa, Argentina, Tonga and Australia at the Millennium Stadium on consecutive weekends in November, starting with the Springboks on Saturday 9th November.

"We have an important campaign ahead as we look to test ourselves against some of the best sides in the world but also add strength in depth to our squad as we look to the future," said Warren Gatland.

"We face a huge game against South Africa first up and they will be coming to us after an impressive Rugby Championship campaign.

"Recent matches between us have been very close and physical and that will be a great test for us to kick-off.

"All four matches will be a stern test but we are looking forward to the challenge and looking forward to seeing what we can do on this stage."

Heathcote will be aiming to add to his three caps when Scotland host Japan (9th November), South Africa (17th November) and Australia (23rd November).

Five uncapped players have been named in the 41-strong Scotland squad - Glasgow Warriors' Mark Bennett, Jonny Gray and Chris Fusaro and the London Irish back-row pair of Kieran Low and Blair Cowan.

Scotland head coach Scott Johnson said: "This squad is about getting the job right for our upcoming Test matches but it's also about the next 24 months as we build towards Rugby World Cup 2015.

"As I said during the tour we need and want to expand our playing pool and within that we have to be clear on which of our long-experienced players will make the journey to the World Cup.

"We have to make sure, too, that our young players, who have the ability to play international footy, get the mileage on the clock ahead of the World Cup."
