Louw free to play, Banahan and Mears banned

Following the RFU disciplinary hearings in Bristol last night, Matt Banahan and Lee Mears have both received bans, whilst Francois Louw is free to play.

Banahan received a red card for his tackle on Anthony Allen in the game against Leicester Tigers at the weekend, contrary to Law 10.4 (e). He received a three week ban and will be available to play on December 24th.

Mears was cited after the game for punching or striking an opponent, contrary to Law 10.4 (a) in the same game. He received a two week ban and is free to play after December 17th.

Louw received a red card during the game at Welford Road for use on an elbow. The citing panel found him not guilty and the citing was dismissed, with the red card being expunged from his record. Louw is free to play.
