Bath Rugby name side to face local rivals

Bath Rugby v Bristol Rugby games always have a little bit more spice about them, as the two sides do battle to see who can claim to be the 'Best of the West' for another year.

Tomorrow night at the Recreation Ground will be no different, as Bath host our local rivals in the final pre-season game before the season kicks off next weekend. The back line of Nick Abendanon, Matt Carraro, Dan Hipkiss, Ben Williams and Tom Biggs starts once again, with Michael Claassens returning to the starting line-up to join Sam Vesty in the half-backs.

Up front, Nathan Catt, Pieter Dixon and Kane Palma-Newport scrum down in the front row, with Ross Batty, David Flatman and David Wilson, who it was announced this week will be flying off to New Zealand with the England Rugby World Cup squad, providing support from the bench.

Will Spencer and Ryan Caldwell start together in the engine room, with Dave Attwood hoping to make his first appearance in Bath colours against his old club from the bench. The back row of Ben Skirving, Carl Fearns and Simon Taylor will start, with Guy Mercer and Will Skuse on the bench.

Kick-off is 7.30pm, and don't forget that Bath United will be getting the evening underway as they take on their Bristol counterparts at 5.30pm.

Tickets are still available for tomorrow night's games, with one ticket covering both games, so give the ticket office a call on 0844 4481865.
