Evie Enjoys Volunteering for the Foundation

When Evie Longshaw began work experience at Bath Rugby in June 2010 she didn’t realise that she would become hooked!  A year and a half later she is still volunteering her services to the Bath Rugby Foundation.  She has also just been nominated for Volunteer in Sports in BANES for the year.  The award ceremony is sometime in March.

Evie attends Ralph Allen School where she did some volunteer work as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.  At school she enjoys hockey, netball and dance, but most of all she enjoys gymnastics.  At present she is concentrating on her AS levels and will be staying on to do her A levels.

Every Monday evening Evie is involved with the After School Club at Bath Sports Centre: “I really enjoy it, there is a bit of everything which is nice.”  This multi-sports club is run by Bath Foundation’s Caryl Thomas and is for young people with disabilities.

Caryl suggested Evie came along to the Volunteer Evening held last night in Bath to make her volunteering more official and to get her even more involved!
