Representatives of Bath Rugby Girls’ Development put on an impressive display during the half time sell out clash between Bath Rugby and Harlequins.
Supported by Herman Miller, the Bath Rugby Foundation programme encourages females in to the game and supports local schools and clubs. One of the girls excitedly said “I’ve never done anything like that before, we hardly get any supporters to our games, I’ll never forget scoring that try on the Rec with such a crowd!”
Caryl Thomas who leads the Girls and Ladies Project emphasised “Girls’ Development is such a positive project, it encourages girls to take up the sport and allows teachers to offer a variety during curriculum time. We lead or assist during curriculum activities, offer after-school clubs as well as support current rugby clubs, which all ties together and strengthens the school-club link. Girls can play at any level, with festivals in tag or contact organised annually. Herman Miller has been a great help this year allowing the continuation of the project and we are very grateful for their continuous support and involvement.”
