Bath Rugby back Sam Vesty is giving something back to grass roots rugby with the release of his debut coaching EBook through Living Rugby.
An RFU Level Three coach, Sam's work with the Bath Rugby Academy has given him a taste for coaching, and he is now keen to pass on some of the ideas and methods he has learnt playing under the likes of Dean Richards, Pat Howard, Richard Cockerill and Gary Gold.
After writing a series of coaching blogs on www.livingrugby.co.uk, Vesty has produced the first of what he intends to be a series of EBooks which are easily downloadable across all formats including PCs, Apple products and smartphones.
His debut release tackles four aspects of the game: 1) Attacking from first-phase scrums 2) How to win lineouts 3) How to use a Drift or Blitz defence and 4) Attacking patterns of play.
"I have enjoyed my career as a rugby player and feel like I have a lot to give back," said Vesty.
"I started writing some blogs for Living Rugby and the response was so good, we thought we would see how well a packaged EBook would be received. It is aimed at any aspiring coaches from club to semi-pro level and is well illustrated with pictures and diagrams.
"I like to think that I have taken the best bits from the world-class coaches I have been lucky enough to play under and added personal ideas to my coaching style. I hope this EBook can provide a useful tool in helping amateur sides play with professional intent."
