England and Bath Rugby Legends Launch Bath Men’s Walk 2014

Former England, Bath and British and Irish Lions rugby player, Jeremy Guscott was joined at the Recreation Ground recently by Bath Rugby legend David Flatman and CEO Nick Blofeld to launch Bath Men's Walk 2014.

Back by popular demand for a second year, the extremely popular men's eight-mile walk will take place on Saturday 1st February 2014 at 13.00 and aims to raise much-needed funds for both Bath Rugby Foundation and Dorothy House Hospice Care.

In what promises to be a thoroughly entertaining day, the walkers will set out from Dorothy House, Winsley and finish at the home of Bath Rugby - the Rec.  Upon arrival they will enjoy a free 'pie and pint' and the Six Nations clash between France and England on the big screen.

Groups of 12 walkers who book together will even get the unique opportunity to watch the game in the comfort of their own private box at the Rec.

This year's Bath Men's Walk is being generously supported by Event Partner, Thrings and Event Sponsors Pieminister, Money Wise, Wadworth and Thatchers.

Walkers can register online at www.bathmenswalk.co.uk or by contacting the hospice fundraising team on 01225 721 480.

Halena Coury, Head of Fundraising for Bath Rugby Foundation said, "Bath Rugby Foundation is delighted to be working alongside Dorothy House Hospice Care to bring back this popular event for a second year.  Men's Walk is a perfect day out for men and boys who fancy a not-too-strenuous walk, followed by a pie and a pint (or two) and a great game of rugby.  Rumour has it there is even an unofficial pit-stop or two on the way!  It's a great way to get a bit of exercise, have lots of fun and enjoy watching a hard fought out game with some of your mates. We look forward to welcoming all the walkers back to The Rec."
