We need your help identifying a local volunteer who embodies the Spirit of Rugby.
For the past few seasons at our Annual Awards Evening, with the help of award sponsor Thrings, we have awarded the 'Spirit of Rugby' to someone involved in the Club who has shown the true essence of what it is to be involved in the game we all love.
This year we have decided to widen the net and search for a local volunteer involved in grassroots rugby in the area who is truly deserving of the award.
Whether it's a school teacher who works tirelessly to organise and support the school matches, to a coach or volunteer at a local club who gives up their valuable free time to make sure the club stays operational, we want to hear about them!
Three shortlisted nominees will be invited to the Annual Awards Evening on Wednesday 8th May, with the winner being chosen by a panel of Matt Banahan, Thrings Managing Partner Thomas Sheppard, Bath Rugby Chief Executive Nick Blofeld, and Bath Rugby Business Development Manager John Harrison.
Speaking of the award, Banahan said: "Every professional player began playing at grassroots level, and all of us were helped immeasurably by the sheer generosity and passion of people along the way. Rugby needs these people, and we are delighted to be able to recognise these efforts as a Club."
To nominate your local hero, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with your reasons why this person has shown the Spirit of Rugby by Friday 19th April.
