Twenty teams from across the South West and London took on Bowood's challenging 18-hole course in the annual Bath Rugby Open golf day on Thursday 19th June.
Included in the team sheet were Bath Rugby legends Lee Mears, Matt Perry and Duncan Bell, who were joined by CEO Nick Blofeld. The winning fourball was Steve Beavan, Phil Walker, Gary Roscoe and Jon Stewart of Bath Rugby's banking partner Barclays. Matt Perry was awarded the prize for longest drive, winning an Aeron chair kindly donated by Herman Miller, while Jeremy Parrott took first place in the closest-to-the-pin contest to win a hospitality package at the England v Australia Autumn International at Twickenham.
A spectacular post-match trick shot came courtesy of 23-times world champion clay shot George Digweed, who shot 50 balloons out of the air in a breathtaking display. The only disappointment of the day was the football result!
Thanks to our partner Getronics for sponsoring the event; Bowood for hosting a fantastic day; and VPar for supplying an electronic scoring system. Bath Rugby are very grateful to Mizuno, Tattinger, Ginger Grouse, Herman Miller and Keith Prowse Hospitality for generously supplying some brilliant prizes for the winning players.
