Foundation

Mission Statement: To enhance the lives of children and young adults through sport, in particular for those who have a disadvantaged lifestyle. To raise self-esteem and motivate young people, impacting positively on their educational achievements and enhancing their social skills.

Established in 2003 Bath Rugby Foundation is an independent charity that works to enhance the lives of young people through sport and in doing so plays a vital role in the local community. It is funded by grants and donations from businesses and individuals.

Working with disabled children, children from disadvantaged backgrounds and those who are simply in need of guidance through the difficulties of young adulthood, the Foundation aims to inspire, change and improve the lives of young people in the wider community.

The Foundation employs a permanent staff of seven and is one of the UK's leading sporting charity success stories and in 2010 was awarded the Best Education Project by the Rugby Parliamentary Group in recognition of its work.

In 2010, 23,000 children and young people in the Bath area benefited from the activities of The Foundation. The Foundation has set a target to extend the reach of its programme to reach 100,000 children by 2015.

The Trustees of the Foundation are:

  • Nick Blofeld - Chief Executive of Bath Rugby
