I think it is out of order for JC to try to poach MF from Bath, after spending time at the club he should really have more respect rather than poaching quality coaches.

I see your point, but I always maintain that when the opportunity comes to be in your national squad, you've got to give them the chance and not stand in the way. He will be missed if he goes but I for one say thanks, and best of luck. And luck is what he needs if he thinks he will ever be able to turn Australia’s sows ear into a silken front row.

i don't think BA will stop him. I get the impression that they have a different philosophy on how the game should be played. As BA is in charge, he will prevail.
Kind of leaves MF with no where to go. So who called who first?

I can't believe they chose JC2 and he has said he will call on MF as soon as he is appointed. I don't think BA and MF have any differences in thier approach and MF will be a big loss but it will be interesting to see if and who will replace MF, will we see a return of the Humph?

I'd rather MF didn't go, but I suspect it is really just a formality now.
Can't believe though that Oz went for JC2, seems all of the super 12/14 coaches all counted themselves out, leaving JC2 as the only option left.
Looking forward to the world cup now, if he coaches internationally as he did at club level, Oz aren't going to be ripping sides apart with exciting back play!!
One less country to worry about.

I was delighted whenJC2 left and disappointed that MF didn't go with him. We have won nothing under their management and have a chance now with BA in charge. Foley almost took us down in his season, connolly took us to the top but we came up short each time we got to a final. Their continued use of malone at 10 throughouit their reign has done for us. Maolne for the Oz 10 shirt in WC07.

I'll be sorry to see MF go, he's turned our pack into one of the best in the country. I think Australia would be mad not to acquire him as their forwards coach. Yes, the results did not go our way when he was in charge, but that was down more to the stagnant play in our back line, and not down to the forwards performances, which is what he was responsible for.

You also have ot remember than MF was a very inexperienced coach when he first came to the rec...

He's clearly an excellent forwards coach now and OZ's gain would be our loss...

Thats a poorly informed opinion imho MF did not want to be head coach he was put into a situation he did not want to be in. He is a superb coach of the tight five and dragged ours up from the worst in the league to the best. During december when it was just him a RG we won all our matches with style I think you'll find that the vast majority of Bath fans appreciate what foles has done for our pack and it will be very tough to find a replacement, as I said before I reckon Humph would do a good job. The next forwards coach has to be good enough to make our pack want to stay here.
