Short ready for Falcons clash
5 March 2010, 4:32 pm
Peter Short is still pinching himself after four wins in a row. Having had some close results before, it felt like a long time coming for the victories and Peter feels that Bath Rugby now have to work hard to keep the momentum going: "We were obviously close. We had only been losing some games by a few points. Perhaps we have come to realise that occasionally you have to reassess what is going on."
One area that Bath Rugby will not be changing is their style of play, which Peter thinks is the key to their new found success and also feels that certain players returning to the side has bolstered Bath’s Guinness Premiership campaign: “In terms of style we try to be true to what we have done over the last few years and play what’s ahead of us. I think what has also helped is getting people like Butch and Olly come back has helped massively.”
The game against Saracens was a closely fought battle, but one that Peter Short and the rest of the Bath team were ready for: “It was a tricky game; we prepared well which was the key for it. We knew conditions were going to be difficult. Under foot was a bit slippery but we adjusted accordingly but it came off and we were very pleased with it.” And this weekend, Shorty thinks that the momentum within the team will continue against the Falcons: “The guys individual performances have all improved and we are making fewer mistakes as a group. We are able to keep the pressure on other teams." |
