Matt Carraro, Nick Abendanon, Rob Hawkins, Rhys Crane and Michael Claassens all sport their "Movember" moustaches
The Bath Rugby squad are all looking fairly hairy at the moment, and whilst it might not be making any fashion statements, it is definitely making a statement!!
It is all in aid of "Movember" which is an international campaign to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer. A subject that most men feel too embarrassed to talk about.
It is a disease that with early detection can be treated, but for many men they will suffer alone because they find it humiliating to speak to a professional about it. So Movember wants to take the stigma of men's health issues away and get them talking.
The idea is that guys from across the globe all grow moustaches through out the month of November raising money and awareness for men's health problems.
Bath Rugby's David Barnes has managed to talk the team into taking part in this event and Aaron Jarvis thinks it's a great idea.
"It is for a good cause raising awareness of Prostate cancer, so that's why we are all going around with moustaches and facial hair at the moment. Although we are having lots of fun growing them, there is a serious message behind it, so it's important to let everyone know what it's all about."
They will be revealing there new looks at the London Irish game on Saturday 28th November. The game will also be shown on Sky so the guys will want to look their best in front of their home crowd and cameras. Aaron says they have already been checking out the competition on the training paddock for the title of 'best moustache.'
"There are a few boys that have got good ones, Michael Stephenson and Rob Hawkins in particular, they are looking really good. Mine is going a little bit ginger so I am trying to get rid of that, I don't know why but I may have to get some mascara in mine to cover it up, but most of us seem to have a ginger twang in there."
