However, Bath Rugby fly-half Ryan Davis did not hang up his boots entirely over the season, but instead has been investing his time in giving children and teenagers some of his best tips for playing rugby.

“I think that it is really important that kids have something to do over the summer,” admitted Ryan. “It is especially important for them to do something that helps them to interact with their peers and to get some exercise whilst doing it.

“As a professional rugby player we know the benefits of staying fit and healthy, but it isn’t always easy when you are still at School to realise how important that is.”

Having said that, Ryan has been through his fair share of injuries over the years but it has been his own strength of will and determination that made his return to the Bath Rugby stage such an exciting one at the end of last season.

“We are also keen to really develop the kid’s talents as well. It would be worthless for me and for them if I wasn’t investing in making sure that they were as good as they can be – we want to inspire them to push themselves and to aim high and it’s fantastic when we see them achieve that.”
