Peter Short joined Bath Rugby in 2005/06 from Narbonne, and having previously represented his country at U19 and U21 level, and been part of the Leicester squad that won back-to-back double Heineken Cup and Zurich Premiership titles in the 2000/01 and 2001/02 seasons, easily fitted back into the environs of English rugby.
Peter is the son of former Waterloo player Kevin Short and went to Adams’ Grammar School in Shropshire. He played for Moseley, for whom he made his debut as an 18-year-old in 1998 against London Scottish. The following season he joined Leicester.
His incorporation into West-country life is assisted by the fact that he can play in the back row or at lock, and his outings for Bath reflect that. It also means that he was in the squad for almost every competitive match last season, and his value to the squad was underlined by his signing a new two-year contract last November.
