| ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY TO BE THE BATH RUGBY MASCOT!
All Front Row members get put into a draw to be the Guinness Premiership mascot and lead the players out onto the pitch at one of our home games.
The winner will receive two free tickets (one for themselves and one for a parent/guardian) a signed ball and the chance to be photographed with the captain!
The draw for being the match day mascot takes place roughly 6 weeks before each Guinness Premiership match and the winner will be contacted. This gives you plenty of time to show off and tell all of your friends and see if any of them want to buy a ticket to see you in your role of honour. Your parents/guardians will then be able to order any extra tickets above the two you get with the prize before they are all sold out.
Bath v Sale
The mascot for the Sale home match was Emma Rotherham from Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. Emma celebrated her 9th birthday on the 14th September – happy birthday Emma! Emma attends the Brookhurst Primary School and her favourite player is Ollie Barkley. Emma won the chance to become today’s Guinness Premiership mascot through the new junior fan club – FRONT ROW.
Emma has sent us the following article to report back on her fantastic day!
"First of all when we arrived we met James at the changing rooms, he was very nice and he showed us the baths and where they put lots of ice in them -cold! I then had my picture taken in Olly's seat and Shaune Berne's seat as he was captain of the special day. I then was given a ball that had been signed by all the members of the Bath team. A short while later I met the captain Shaune Berne and we ran onto the pitch to the centreline whre my picture was taken. I then went to the seat provided for me and watched the match. All in all a very special and exciting day for a front row member"
Bath v Harlequins
The mascot for the Sale match was Justin Avenell from Westbury. Justin has just turned eight and is looking forward to another home win at the Rec today. His favourite player is Nick Abendanon, but has gone for Joe Maddock on the back of his Bath shirt, as Nick's surname is too long to fit! Justin plays for Trowbridge RFC U8s and also enjoys swimming, karate and football. He attends Westbury Leigh C of E Primary School and is looking forward to being able to play tag-rugby there as well next year. Justin would like to thank his Grandma and Grandad for the England rugby shirt - by the time he fits into it, England will be having another crack at the World Cup!
Bath v Bristol
The mascot for the big local derby between Bath and Bristol was Edward Prysor-Jones. Edwards is a local lad from Priston and attends Downside School. His favourite player is popular choice Olly Barkley. Edward is 10 years old. We hope Edward has a fantastic day!
Bath v Leeds Carnegie
The mascot for this Christmas cracker was Roberta Cameron-Rossiter. Roberta will be five in January so there was a warm welcome for our youngest Guinness Premiership mascot. Roberta lives with her big brother George who is also a FRONT ROW member in Freshford and is a big fan of our President, Nick Abendanon. Her great loves are horse riding, chocolate and of course watching Bath Rugby. She especially enjoys eating chips at the matches! We hope you enjoyed your big day Roberta!
Bath v Gloucester
The lucky mascot for this big match is 12 year old Olly Lander. Olly’s favourite player is his namesake, Olly Barkley. Like Olly Barkley, Olly Lander plays centre for John Bentley School club, however this Olly is somewhat of a utility player as he also plays wing, full-back and 2nd row! Being half South African Olly supports South Africa as his national team. Well traveled, Olly has already been to Kenya, South Africa, Canada, Greece and France and hopes to visit Naples and Holland this year – perhaps he’ll send us a postcard! His favourite subject at school is PE and technology and he would love to be a stuntman or a blacksmith when he is older. Good luck!
Bath v London Wasps
The mascot for this match was Jacob Lowe. Jacob is ten and a half(!) and attends the Haymoor Middle School in Poole. Jacob plays for Lytchett Minster FRC Under 11’s and is a fearsome hooker – watch out Mearsy! Apart from playing rugby Jacob LOVES watching ‘the awesome Bath and England teams’ in action. His other hobbies include reading, history, Warhammer and Sea Scouts. Jacob’s prediction for the match was Bath 21 – London Wasps 9 – unfortunately this didn't come true but we hear that Jacob had a great day nevertheless!
"We all had a great day at Bath, apart from the fact that we came second, and Jacob was very proud to run out on the field with David Barnes for his 200th match. We have the footage from Sky Sports. Please thank James Savastano for looking after us and could you also thank Ryan Davis for giving Jacob a players eye view of the club."
Bath v Newcastle Falcons
This weekend the Front Row Club welcomed Samuel Heffer to the Rec. Samuel is eleven years old and comes from Poole in Dorset. Samuel is a member of the Front Row club alongside his brother Ben who is thirteen. Samuel attends Dumpton School in Wimborne and has played competitive rugby for his school for four years. Samuel plays outside centre. Samuel was very excited about being pulled out of the hat to be the mascot!
"Thank you so much for organising my day to Bath, I really loved it! I loved meeting the players and going on the pitch with Alex. The seats were great too!"
Bath v London Irish
The lucky mascot for this Easter macth was Edward Burnett.
Edward is 10 years old and goes to Heywood School in Corsham, where he plays rugby for the school as well as being a keen all round sportsman. He lives in Trowbridge and plays for Trowbridge RFC under 10's where he does his best to give a good impersonation of Butch at flyhalf.
He was thrilled when told that his name had been drawn from the hat of FRONT ROW members to be the mascot, it will be the start of a busy Easter holiday which see him and his school team mates going to Jersey on rugby tour on Tuesday. He hopes his arm, broken in a game in February is fixed by then!
He and his team mates had a brilliant day recently watching Bath beat Auch (whom they aptly nicknamed ‘Ouch’).
Bath v Leicester Tigers
The lucky mascot for this huge battle was George Campbell. George is 12 years old and lives near Tetbury. He attends Beuadesert Park School in Minchinhampton. George’s favourite player is none other than our very own FRONT ROW President, Nick Abendanon.
Bath v Saracens
With this being the last Guinness Premiership league game of the season, this was the last chance for one of our FRONT ROW members to win the chance of becoming the Guinness Premiership mascot. The very lucky winner was Mason Knight from Trowbridge. Mason was so excited at receiving the news that he was to be the mascot that he could hardly speak!
Mason is aged 8 years old and goes to the Mead Community Primary School in Hilperton Trowbridge.
As well as supporting Bath and England, he plays Rugby for Trowbridge RFC Under 8’s and his favourite Bath Players are Steve Borthwick and Jonny Faamatuainu.
If you would like to be in with a chance of becoming the Bath Rugby Guinness Premiership mascot next season then please keep an eye on the website for membership details to be announced.
