Matt On Life As A Lion
26 May 2005, 12:00 am
The British and Irish Lions will land in New Zealand today to begin their eleven match tour of the land of the long white cloud and Bath Rugby’s very own Matt Stevens will be keeping us up to date with all the ‘behind the scenes’ news in his exclusive column in the Western Daily Press beginning tomorrow.
Matt, who is one of two Bath Rugby players to have made the 45-man squad, will give his account of every piece of heart-stopping action on the field and all the behind the scenes news and views of what promises to be an extremely exciting and tough tour for the Lions.
The Lions have played thirty-five test matches against the All Blacks since their first in 1904, but they have won just six of those encounters in the country that is regarded the most difficult of all places to tour.
Read tomorrow in the Western Daily Press Matt’s thoughts on rugby in New Zealand, the latest on his knee injury, how preparations are going for the first match against the Bay of Plenty and his hopes and ambitions for the tour. “This tour will be an unbelievable experience for me and I am looking forward to sharing those experiences with the Western Daily’s readers.”
