Chippenham Tag festival

Chippenham RFC provided the great venue for the finale of the Chippenham 2 cluster on Saturday morning.
The festival hosted 6 teams from 5 local Chippenham schools who were all hoping to be victorious and earn the right to be crowned TAG Rugby World Champions of Chippenham.

Redland Primary school provided 2 teams for the contest with Monkton Park Primary, Queens Crescent Primary, Christian Malford Primary and Stanton St Quintin Primary School making up the rest of the competition.

One hundred and forty nine tries were scored in 24 games in a very tightly contested tournament. The standard of rugby was once again brilliant with tries being scored all over the place and more importantly lots and lots of young TAG Rugby players were running around with smiles on their faces.

Redland Primary team 2 ended up joint points and try scorers with Christian Malford Primary meaning both sides shared the title and progressed through to the area final after the Easter break.

Once there they will play the champions of the 4 other clusters that have enjoyed the Wincanton Programme this year for the chance to be crowned TAG Rugby World Champions of the Bath Area.

Final Results are as follows…
                                                                    Points  Tries
