| Launched at the beginning of the 2004-05 season, the Bath Rugby and Bath and North East Somerset development squad was introduce to allow girls of comprehensive education age the same opportunity as boys to experience and enjoy playing rugby in a safe and fun environment.
Run as a partnership between the Bath Rugby Community Foundation and the B&NES Active Leisure team. The squad has also hugely benefited from generous backing from local firms SITEC and Belgrave Finances as well as Sportsmatch.

Girls Development Squad

All girls aged eleven to seventeen years of age are welcomed to train with the squad which meets to train on a fortnightly basis at Bath Rugby’s Lambridge training ground on London Road
At present some twenty-five girls are involved in the squad which is going from strength to strength and sessions vary from skills, TAG and SAQ sessions to full contact game play.
The development squad is open to all girls regardless of experience and the sessions are delivered by experienced and qualified rugby coaches from the area.
