| Licester Tigers beat London Wasps in the Semi Finals at the Millennium Stadium today (Saturday 22nd March). Leicester are in the Final of the EDF Energy Cup on Saturday 12th April - the date they were due to play us in the Guinness Premiership at the Rec.
Therefore - we move to our contingency plan for our home game v Leicester.
Naturally for the sake of our supporters and player welfare we would like to re-arrange the game for a weekend. BUT we will only have a free weekend if we lose against Leeds in our home European Cup QF (therefore not qualify for the European SF) in which case the weekend of 26/27th April would be available.
So as things now stand:
1.We beat Leeds on 5th April and qualify for the Euro SF.
Bath v Leicester will move to Tuesday 15th April with an 8pm KO.
2. We lose our QFv Leeds
Bath v Leicester will move to Saturday 26th April with 2.15pm KO.
Due to the tight timescales we must put tickets on sale next week. Match tickets will show the fixture date as Tuesday 15th April.
Ticket purchasers will be made aware that the match could still move to Saturday 26th April and all tickets sent out will carry a slip explaining that the Tuesday date could move. In this scenario, if we lost against Leeds, all tickets sold will be valid for the rearranged date of Saturday 26th April.
We offer our sincere apologies to supporters for this somewhat confusing situation. However – after long discussions between Bath Rugby, Leicester Tigers and Premier Rugby – we are confident that this plan, complicated as it is it, offers the best solution in terms of the balance between player welfare and our supporters.
Bath Rugby v Leeds – European Challenge Cup Quarter Finals – Saturday 5th April, 2.15pm – TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE!
