| Following the extremely supportive public response to the Strategic Review, the Trustees decided to pursue Option 2. Option 2 was our favoured direction with an independently funded crescent shaped arena re-development enhancing the current site.
The process has been complex and slow moving but a least some progress had been made recently and we certainly have a new set of Trustees that want to resolve the issue as quickly as the bureaucratic system allows. The published report from the Charity Commission explained the historical perspective but left the development door open for a change in the terms of the Trust.
However, the important long awaited decision from the Charity Commission has been delayed yet again. The Trustees have tried very hard on our behalf to supply all the requested information in support of the chosen option. Patience may be a virtue but the practical implications of a further delay must be realised particularly as it is now seriously affecting the running of the Club.
We urgently need a decision in order to plan for the future of Bath Rugby.
Bath Rugby will continue to co-operate fully in order for the Trust to meet its objectives and help in the decision making process and we hope that there will be a definitive conclusion in the near future.
LAMBRIDGE
The proposed Park and Ride development on Lambridge is under review enabling the Council to explore alternative options. We urge the decision makers to stop procrastinating after 16 years and conclude the issue once and for all.
We have improved the quality of the training pitch at Lambridge but the buildings are unsatisfactory and these conditions are naturally affecting team preparation. We do use the excellent gym and pool facilities at Bath University but they cannot accommodate all our requirements on and off the field of play.
Thank you for your support.
